NDACT-Stop the Quarry
Unicamp is in danger!
The North Dufferin Agricultural and Community Taskforce presented us with the facts at our church on September 20th. A US (Boston) based business enterprise known as The Highland Companies, and affiliates, has undertaken a massive land assembly in and around Hornings Mills, Honeywood, Reddickville and other parts of Melancthon and Mulmur Townships. To date, they have acquired over 7,000 acres of prime agricultural lands.
Their plan is to devastate the agricultural land and create a limestone quarry comprising over 2300 acres of prime agricultural land. This is located at the headwaters of the Grand River. Over 800,000 people live in the watershed.
This is just a few kilometers from Unicamp!
